Romeo Jones Prequel: As a Deputy United States Marshal Fugitive Hunting in the Poconos

His most recent past, prior to coming back to his home town of Trinity, was as a Deputy United States Marshal, a fugitive hunter. Here’s the beginning of one of his “Marshal stories,” perhaps to be developed into a short story. Enjoy. Usual caveats about spelling apply. }

Looking past the woman, who was trying to stuff her sheer white blouse into a very tight denim skirt while rocking back and forth on high heels, Jones saw his partner, Harry Anderson, passed out in the bedroom.

“How much does he owe you?” Jones asked pulling some wrinkled bills from a pocket of his faded Wranglers.

“What? You think I’m a hooker?” she said teetering on Stuart Weitzman knock-offs.

“What would you rather be called? Whore or prostitute?”

“How about school teacher? Jerk.”

New Music Review : Dark Moor – Project X : Symphonic Melodic Hard Rock and Heavy Metal from Spain

DArk Moor - Project XSpain’s Dark Moor is another band that has been pressing on for a long time, better than 20 years. Formed in Madrid by guitarist Enrik Garcia, the band returns with their tenth album, Project X. While I can’t be sure, as information about the album is lacking from the band, it appears this album has some sci-fi theme. But moving on.

 There are two basic reasons why Dark Moor is one of my favorite metal bands. One is vocalist Alfred Romero. He simply has a terrific voice: clean and clear, melodic and emotional, often having the timbre of one classically trained, but not grossly operatic. I like listening to him sing. One listen to I Want To Believe, which has this near Gospel music vibe, and you will be convinced. I’ll even put forward that, sometimes, he reminds me of Freddie Mercury in his passion.
