{ My recipe for Craig’s Heavy Metal Chili has an appropriate history. Several years ago, Classic Rock (UK) magazine offered a calendar which featured recipes from the book Hellbent For Cooking. (For those who don’t know, the title is a play on the famous Judas Priest song, Hellbent For Leather.) The recipes were compiled from heavy metal band members from a large cross section of the genre. Drummer Jeff Olson of US doom metal band contributed this recipe, which I modified slightly. Enjoy. }

Here’s something of interest I picked up yesterday at the Ephrata Public Library’s annual Mystery Lovers Book Sale, a copy of Raymond Chandler’s Farewell, My Lovely. (Photo,right) Chandler was a pioneer of in the 30’s and 40’s noir crime fiction with his Phillip Marlowe private detective character. None of that is all that extraordinary; it’s common knowledge. Yet, there’s several curious things about this paperback edition.
