Craig Hartranft. I don’t have one of those names that rolls of the tongue like James Bond, Tom Hanks, or Humphrey Bogart. Well, maybe Bogie is better. I’d probably use my real name for non-fiction, except maybe when I’m skewering some theological fool. I may go with something clever like U. B. Rong.

But for writing fiction, I tried several modifications: Craig Simon Hart, which makes me sound almost British. Simon was my great-grandfather’s first name. Then I thought, Craig Hart. Okay, that’s good. Short. Easy to remember. Bland.

But I tip of the hat came to me, C. S. Hart like C. S. Lewis, the great lay philosopher and theologian. It has a ring to it. Why not? Not exactly genius but close. And it works for both fiction and non-fiction.

Now to publish that firs book, The Dead Husband by C. S. Hart.
