Ephrata Borough governement

Well they did it. The coalition of the incompetent, the Ephrata Borough Manager, Bob Thompson, and the Borough Council, by a 6-2 vote, are raising your property taxes. Why? Because they couldn’t make the tough choices to balance the Borough budget. Once more, property owners in Ephrata bear the burden of their poor leadership and management.

Additionally, Thompson blamed the method by which taxes are collected by the County to explain the problem. When all else fails, blames somebody else: typical of a politician or a government bureaucrat.

Unknown computer hackers, possibly Russian criminals, robbed Ephrata Borough of $80,000 from their general fund, thanks to inadequate security measures. However, good old-fashioned bookkeeping discovered the theft and prevented the scenario for becoming worse. [read more]
